A bikers’ relay in Savoie

Discovering France on a motorbike, in complete freedom and with total fluidity, what a delight!
Travelling through the Rhône-Alpes region means opting for an area of great variety, with its many landscapes, remarkable sites to discover and gourmet delights to savour.
Choosing Savoie for a stopover or a holiday means you can be sure of a different outing every day, depending on what you fancy at the time.
Whether you prefer to go off on your own, as a couple, with family or friends… on holiday or for a weekend… for longer or shorter tours… for a stroll or a sporting outing… Aix-les-Bains has it all.

Situated in the heart of the Alps, Savoie is renowned for the variety of its landscapes. Taking to the roads of the region means discovering the countryside, strolling along the banks of the mighty Rhône and Isère rivers, or the lakes of great variety, skirting tumultuous mountain rivers, crossing numerous mountain passes, accessing some of the most famous peaks in France and enjoying majestic panoramas as far as the eye can see.

Staying in Aix les Bains is ideal thanks to its setting, its natural, varied and well-connected environment. Située à proximité de nombreuses attractions touristiques, notre ville est le point de départ d’une grande variété de sorties. Located close to many tourist attractions, our town is the starting point for a wide variety of outings.

There are many and varied ideas for tours.
Heading north. The journey through the Bauges National Park takes you peacefully through beautiful forests teeming with rivers, waterfalls, religious sites and dairy cooperatives, all the way to Annecy. Then there’s the choice of heading for Switzerland or the Aravis mountains, with the ski resorts of Haute-Savoie and their superb chalets.
Head east towards Mont Revard, overlooking Aix les Bains. Then it’s on to the Tarentaise region, with an unmissable lunchtime stopover in Italy via the magnificent Iseran pass.
Another valley renowned for its ski resorts in winter, but just as interesting the rest of the year: the Maurienne, home of the Opinel cheese. The resort of Valloire is the gateway to the Southern Alps, and the landscapes here offer yet more mountain styles.
To the south, the landscape changes again with the Vercors and Chartreuse mountains.
Heading south and west also gives you the chance to enjoy some beautiful walks through the vineyards.
A number of waterside soirees are also on the agenda. Don’t forget your swimming costume in summer!
You can follow the banks of the Rhône, which are still wild here.
There are many lakes in the region. There are, of course, the two main ones: Lac du Bourget, the largest natural lake in France at 18km long, with its natural, unspoilt shores. Don’t miss the belvederes and to the north of the lake, visit the magnificent Hautecombe Abbey, and take a trip along the peaceful Savières Canal to the romantic village of Chanaz. A little further afield is Lake Annecy, with its famous villages, easily accessible shores and the lively old town of Annecy. Peaceful and private, discover Lac d’Aiguebelette, at the foot of Mont du Chat. Sparsely urbanised, nature and the countryside are preserved. Look up and you’re sure to see paragliders taking off from the top of the mountain. The return journey takes in the vineyards of Jongieux and other villages, one of the most bucolic of which is Chanaz, then the Savières canal leads back to the shores of Lac du Bourget, with a beautiful view of the lake from the beach at Châtillon. Return to Aix les Bains via the Col de La Chambotte and its breathtaking viewpoint!

Departing from Aix les Bains and the GRAND HÔTEL du PARC, there are a wide range of tours to choose from, either by geographical area or by theme. There are plenty of sites to choose from, and the programme includes tastings, gastronomic, cultural and sporting activities… it’s all up to you!

Our hotel, the GRAND HÔTEL du PARC, is located in the centre of Aix les Bains. More than a hotel, this is a home from home, almost like a bed and breakfast. Our aim is to make you feel at home here.
Motorbikes and bicycles are welcome all year round, in summer and winter, with private parking in a closed garage.
Everything has been thought of to guarantee your peace and comfort, right in the centre of town, in a district with authentic, lively gourmet shops.
It’s the ideal place to rest and relax, so you can make the most of your motorbike escapades.
The bedrooms are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is the perfect opportunity to fill up on energy and make the most of the day.
The LEO-PAUL restaurant is the perfect place to treat yourself to another gourmet meal. The welcome is made all the warmer by the fact that Chef Gilles Blonay is himself a motorcyclist. At the end of the meal, you can chat to him about his favourite outings!
Just as gourmet, but with a change of atmosphere: the lounge bar M. CHARLES. A place to relax and enjoy a meal, either indoors or in the garden. After a beautiful motorbike ride through nature, passing through valleys and high mountains, it’s time to relax in the lounge-bar or in the terrace gardens.
And don’t forget free access during your stay to the hotel’s private spa, complete with swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.

Making the most of the weather… exploring the region’s roads… getting away from it all…
Welcome to the GRAND HÔTEL du PARC!
